On Tuesday, May 10th, we held a press conference of faith leaders from across Westchester County who released a letter to Governor Cuomo, Majority Leader Flanagan and Speaker Heastie urging them to raise the age of criminal responsibility from 16 to 18 by the end of the legislative session in June.
The following clergy members represented a total of 37 faith leaders that acted and signed the letter:
The Rev. Jeffrey A. Geary, Pastor, White Plains Presbyterian Church (who was our host).
Rev. Dr. Bonnie Rosborough, Pastor, Briarcliff Congregational Church
Rev. Erwin Lee Trollinger, Jr., Calvary Baptist Church, White Plains
Bart Worden, Clergy Leader, Ethical Culture Society of Westchester
The press conference was covered by News 12 Westchester, the White Plains Daily Voice and The Examiner. In addition, The Journal News published an editorial in support of Raise the Age following the faith leader press conference.
If you were not able to attend, we have made the letter available here for you to view.
