Registration is now OPEN for Our Fall Event
|
|
The long-awaited 2023 version of Children by the Numbers (aka the Data Bulletin) will be released at WCA’s Fall Event November 8th.
Children by the Numbers is a statistical portrait that shows Westchester County children, youth and young adults in a numerical light. Our goal is to present this information in such a way that data doesnít just become numbers, but actionable information that can empower advocates in Westchester, NY State and beyond to promote and support policies and programs that protect our children.
Beer, wine, appetizers, a buffet and more! Register for our Fall Event today so you don’t miss the release party! Tickets are $75 a piece. Interested in a sponsorship? Contact Karyn at klee@wca4kids.org or 914.946.7676 x300.

WCA’s 2024 Engagement Calendar
|
WCA’s 2024 Engagement Calendars are here! Thanks to a very special and generous anonymous donor who sponsored the production of our calendars in recent years, the proceeds from donations for the calendars go to ensuring that Westchesterís children are healthy, safe, and prepared for lifeís challenges regardless of race or zip code. Like many of our calendar patrons, our donor is a long-time WCA Calendar user whose use of this calendar began with their mother. Read more about our Engagement Calendars here.

A Peek at What the Court Watchers Have Seen
|
With our community partners and support from the Jandon Foundation, WCA launched the Court Watchers program in early May. Volunteers observe cases in eviction court and document their findings. Since its launch, Court Watchers volunteers have completed 37 individual visits, with just under 200 cases observed. Data collected from these visits across Westchesterís courts will support WCAís advocacy efforts in youth homelessness and child poverty. Success of our Court Watchers Program would not be possible without our dedicated group of volunteers.

Visiting With the
Newly Elected Officials
|
WCA Staff and Board Members have been on the move this summer, meeting with county and state elected officials to keep children at the top of the public agenda! Conversations varied from early childhood and home visiting program participation in Westchester to state legislation impacting restorative youth justice practices in schools.
Weíd like to thank Legislator David Imamura, Legislator Vedat Gashi, Assemblywoman Dana Levenberg, Assemblyman Nader Sayegh, and Senator Nathalia Fernandez for welcoming WCA Board and staff members into their offices and expressing enthusiasm towards our advocacy efforts.
