In the fall of 2024, WCA held the first sessions of their Parent Empowerment Groups. These groups, which operate in cohorts of English and Spanish-speaking parents, typically consist of mothers who are struggling to make ends meet. This report, “The Road to Empowerment and Advocacy: Parents as Change Agents”, is a study of these parent’s experiences, and their first steps into the world of activism and self-advocacy.

WCA released its 2024 report on Child Poverty, “Uplifting Courageous Voices: From the Frontline of Poverty in Westchester County.” This report is the result of months of documenting parent experiences and identifying program and policy supports to alleviate the impact of poverty.
