On Tuesday, October 21, the Westchester Children’s Association (WCA) held its 19th Annual Kathryn Wasserman Davis Advocacy Breakfast.

The program opened with remarks from WCA’s new Executive Director, Adam Rabinovitch, who welcomed more than 130 guests. Early in the program, WCA took a moment to honor the memory of Maris Krasnow, a beloved longtime Board member who recently passed away. Her friends and fellow Board members Jody Greenbaum and Ann Umemoto shared touching reflections on Maris’s unwavering dedication to children and the community.

The audience was then captivated by keynote speaker Damali Peterman, Esq. — mediation expert, attorney, and author — who delivered an inspiring message reminding us that “advocacy is not only about confronting what’s wrong, but daring to imagine what’s possible.”

The morning concluded with remarks from Angel Gray, WCA’s Program and Policy Manager, who urged everyone to keep children at the forefront of the public agenda. With devastating cuts to essential programs like SNAP and WIC, Angel emphasized the importance of staying focused and drawing strength from one another to continue our collective advocacy.
