Unfortunately, due to current conditions associated with (COVID-19) Coronavirus, we have to cancel the screening of Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools on Thursday, March 26th from 4-6pm.
The location of the screening, the Ethical Culture Society of Westchester (ECSW), is about a mile outside of the containment zone in New Rochelle. The Society’s board has decided to suspend all events at ECSW though the end of March, and potentially longer, with concerns about the potential to increase risk and potentially spread Coronavirus.
Westchester Children’s Association and our partners Sister to Sister International Inc are deeply committed to race equity across Westchester and its impact on school discipline. We will explore the possibility of rescheduling—depending of course on how Coronavirus continues to impact Westchester—as there is great interest in the documentary: over 130 people across Westchester registered for our screening and panel discussion.
