Westchester Children’s Association has named three new members to their Board of Directors who were voted in during the May Board meeting. Their term starts on June 21st. Each will serve a three year term.
Tenley Hawkins of White Plains, is a veteran public relations professional widely respected for creating and coordinating successful programs targeting ethnic communities, youth, families, women, and small businesses. As senior vice president for Circulation Expertí, Ltd., a multicultural public relations, advertising and marketing consulting firm, she led a team that provided program development, event management, media relations, speech writing, op-ed articles, podcast scripts, television treatments and celebrity services for high-profile corporate clients as well as a number of non-profits. Currently, she is a PR consultant to Bright Smiles, Bright Futures, Colgate-Palmolive Company’s global oral health education program, and The Black Women’s Agenda. She serves as an adult mentor for Let’s Get Ready, a national program that provides low-income high school students with free SAT preparation, college admissions counseling and other support services, and played a key role in helping to launch the adult mentor program in the White Plains area. Tenley is a former Newsweek reporter; she and her husband live in White Plains and have two adult daughters.
Romina Levy is an active volunteer in her community of Pelham. Originally from Malta, Romina was educated in the UK, where she studied economics. She speaks English, Italian and Maltese, with a good working knowledge of Spanish and French. Her career in the UK was focused on marketing and sales; she is currently working in various volunteer leadership roles in local non-profit organizations. She is a CASA volunteer, and she is the mother of three boys and one girl, who are all currently adolescents. She lives in Pelham with her husband and children.
Tracey Zimmerman, a resident of White Plains, is Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer at The Westchester Bank. She is a resident of Westchester with more than 20 years in the community banking industry. Having joined TWB in April 2013, Tracey is responsible for drafting and maintaining compliance policies, in conjunction with working with respective department managers to create and implement procedures that are in line with overall bank and corporate goals. As the audit liaison and as a member of the Bank’s audit committee, Tracey manages the internal audit function to ensure that departmental exceptions are addressed, that reports are completed on time and to ensure that regulatory requirements are supported. Tracey also serves as the Bank Secrecy Officer. Tracey lives in White Plains with her husband and her two children, who both attend Mamaroneck Avenue School in White Plains.
