The Support Center to Lead WCA’s Leadership Search

In anticipation of Cora Greenberg’s planned departure at the end of June 2018, Westchester Children’s Association (WCA) recently engaged the Support Center to conduct the search for its next Executive Director. The Support Center’s consultant, Katharine Harris, will partner with, and guide the Search Committee as its determines the qualities and skills of the ideal ED candidate and selects the right leader for the next chapter of the organization. After a rigorous process, the WCA Transition and Executive Committees determined that The Support Center has the experience and expertise to guide the WCA Board in the important work of identifying the individual who will lead WCA going forward.

The Support Center has been helping to strengthen the leadership and management of nonprofits in the New York City metro region for over 30 years.  Their approach to Executive Search is rooted in the belief that leadership transition offers a pivotal moment to build the capacity of an organization, and they are committed to supporting organizations through and beyond a change of leadership.

Currently Ms. Harris is in the first phase of the search and transition process, assessing WCA to understand the organization’s strengths, challenges, and needs.  These findings will contribute to the development of the position description and lead into the second phase, which will focus on identifying and screening candidates.
