NOTE: Westchester County has some pretty crazy municipal borders that will, on occasion, overlap in strange and odd ways. Most people living in Westchester know that the zip code and school district borders often bear no relation to municipal borders.
We may, if there’s enough interest in this matter, go into excruciating detail about how these wacky borders make things interesting for us at WCA. In the meantime, we decided to use the municipal borders as determined by Westchester County Geographic Information Systems, the county government department of all things GIS, to decide borders, because they aligned more often than not with the municipal borders as determined by the US Census/American Community Survey. In cases where they didn’t, we’ve included a note in the information window.
